Squeaky brakes

My brakes are squeaking in the right side. What causes that?

  • if intermittent while in motion, caliper is probably not parallel to the disk. new trike - good time to bring it back to the lbs to compensate for cable stretch, wheel truing, and caliper alignment.

possible doing gravel trails a small piece of rock could be lodged between caliper and disk.
  • It only squeaks when I apply the brakes. I do think that there is a cable stretch issue, but not too bad. I'll check for some debris since I do ride on gravel trails.
  • Had same issue intermittent on Rover. Generally corrected by giving a flush in the brake pad area with a nozzle on the garden hose. Just let it dry out after.

If you lived close by I'd say bring it over and I'll be glad to show you how to fix it.
