  • It was 65 here is SW Illinois yesterday. Went for a 26 mile ride. Did not take my trike, rode my recumbent bike. Probably will ride again today if time permits since we have another 65 degree forecast. On cyber Monday I ordered two of the foam se…
  • For example here is a sticky "Post your Bike" thread that was started in Nov. 2005 and currently has 1700 posts.
  • Just start a thread in General Discussions titled “Post your Trike (pictures)”. If this forum allows stickies Chonk could make the thread a sticky and it would always be at the top.
  • Like another poster stated there are no 20" trainer tires. Trainers tend to wear the bottom of tire flat. Not somthing you want to do to an expensive tire. Just pickup a cheap tire. You can get a 20" Kenda Kwest for $15. The Kwest has thick rubber a…
  • Here's the video. https://youtu.be/rPp27kQpkmE  He rides a TerraTrike Rambler. No matter what you eat you can lose weight. It's all about calorie counting. If he burns 2200 calories a day but only consumes 1500, then he's going to lose weight. The p…
  • The only reason I know about the side by side is that is what came on my Anura. The Anura is a delta (one wheel in front and two in back) and comes with brakes on all three wheels. The 2 in 1 operates the two rear brakes and the single lever operate…
  • I went out to the Utah Trikes website and now understand what jamesr was referring to with the under/over cables. Definitely a weird design. I can see how the top could pull more cable than the bottom. I should have went to the UT website and looked…
  • I had a Greenspeed Anura that had a two in one lever for the rear wheels. The adjustment was finicky, but once adjusted it worked well at applying both brakes. Sounds like there maybe an issue with the lever. Just hook both cables to the lever but n…
  • Being in Grand Rapids in late August for a conference and visiting TerraTrike, I really liked the Sportster with the anodized frame. Had that same flat color look as the new powdercoat colors. Was wondering why they were going away from the anodized…
  • HP Velotechnik makes some nice heel strap pedals. Zach Kaplan sells them for $84 a pair.
  • I did not make it. Just too many things to do at home over the weekend. Even had made a hotel reservation and cancelled it on Thursday night,
  • I had a Patterson Drive that I recently sold. I never got around to installing it. Had several email exchanges with Sam Patterson about installation, and one was concerning the shifter. I checked and I still had the email, so pasted Sam's reply belo…
  • In chilly weather I like knickers with over the calf socks. Keeps legs warm and no pant leg to get into the chain. Aero Tech Designs has nice non-padded knickers which work great on a trike or bent. http://www.aerotechdesigns.com/aetedemecoca.html …
  • Two most common cycling knee injuries are Tendonitis and Chondromalacia. Tendonitis is caused by low saddle height or on a trike it would be boom or seat not extended far enough and by pedaling in too high of gear.  Chondromalacia is caused by over …
  • Leg suck is a real hazard on tadpole trikes. The trike is low to the ground and your legs are horizontal so when your foot comes off the pedal before you have time to react it is sucked under the cruciform. You do not have to be flying down a downhi…
  • The Patterson has been sold.
  • "A trip to the dealer was well worth it.  I found out my bike was not set up correctly.  The seat needed to be moved forward and the boom extended.  However, the prior shop didn't want to add links to the chain." Wow! That is really poor service fro…
  • The TerraTrike warranty (see below) states that the frame, seat frame, and steering components are covered if you are original owner but not the attached components. You would need to contact the component manufacturer to see what if any warranty th…
  • Here's a link for the DualDrive. Uses a twist shifter with 3 positions. First position is the underdrive, middle position is 1:1, and last position is the overdrive.
  • I find Primo Comets faster than Kojaks. The non-Kevlar Comet is faster than the Kevlar version due to it's more supple casing. You will lose some speed with the Kevlar version but will have greater flat protection. If you are just looking for flat o…
  • We used to own a Sun tandem with IPS, or maybe a better acronym woutd be ICS for independent coasting system. It lets one rider not pedal while the other rider pedals. With IPS the timing rings are on the right side. The Patterson is not going to wo…
  • Normally my cell never leaves the home area because it is my phone, internet and gaming connection all in one.So having it go out and ride a bicycle really takes it away from its main job.... So you do not carry a phone with you when you ride? I fin…
  • Sorry, I thought you wanted to know the places where I ride. Most of my riding is flat and I am a spinner so tend to not use real low or high gears mostly the mid-range.
  • I mostly ride on the local trails right by my house. I just have to go .3 mi down a rural road to access a 100 mi. trail system. About 90% of the trails are asphalt and the others are crushed limestone. They are all interconnected. http://mcttrails.…
  • Where you run into issues with mirrors on trikes is when they use bar end shifters. The shifter takes up the bar end where the mirror goes. There are mirror mounts for direct steer trikes, but not sure what you would use for an indirect steer with b…
  • Is it possible to use a Mirrycycle that sticks in the end of the bar?  http://www.mirrycle.com/mountain_mirrycle.php
  • I have had no problems with mine but I use it on a two wheel bent that does not hit as many bumps due to one track versus the three tracks of a trike. Also I ride asphalt MUP's and our roads are fairly smooth compared to roads in Alaska.
  • Here you go http://www.gomadic.com/samsung-galaxy-note-3---note-iii-handlebar-holder.html I got one of these for my Garmin eTrex. It's a fantastic holder.
