The Community Ride is open to all and will take place on Saturday, July 27th, starting at 9am.  No pre-registration is required, just plan to meet at at 9:00 AM at the south parking lot of Riverside Park in Grand Rapids, Michigan.  The South Parking lot is located where Knapp St. ends at Monroe Ave.  This Community Ride will replace TerraTrike’s annual RiderFest event.

The group of riders will head north through Riverside park, cross the Grand River at the North Park bridge, then pick up the Fred Meijer White Pine Trail, heading towards Rockford. The Fred Meijer White Pine Trail is a linear state park trail that spans from Comstock Park to Cadillac, Michigan.

The stretch of trail from Comstock Park to Rockford is paved and very scenic. It follows along the Grand River, goes through some pretty wooded areas, and overlooks the Rogue River near Rockford. The distance from Riverside Park to Rockford is about 22.5 miles total, out and back. The town of Rockford has lots of food options for those who want to get ice cream or stop for lunch before heading back south… or riding further north!

This is an ‘out and back’ ride, and all riders are encouraged to ride as far as they want to, then turn around and head back to the parking lot. The Community Ride is also a ‘ride at your own pace’ ride with no support other than those riders around you. Several TerraTrike staff will be participating in the ride, but there will be no mechanical support. Public restrooms are available at Riverside Park, the Belmont Trailhead parking lot, and in the town of Rockford.

There is no pre-registration for this Community Ride, just show up on July 27 at 9am and be ready to ride!  And yes, bikes are welcome too!
